In this position, you will plan, manage, and accomplish technical order acquisition modification and sustainment management tasks for the F-16 Technical Order Management Agency.

Plans and performs technical manual verification tasks and pre-publication reviews for the TO Management Agency. Assists in the review and preparation of documents for F-16 technical manual planning and support. Participates in meeting and conferences to identify and resolve potential support problems and required technical management activities. Plans and manages the acquisition, modification, and sustainment of technical orders to operate and maintain Fighter (F-15, F-16, F-22, or F-35) weapon systems. Serves as the Air Force representative on joint Government and Fighter aircraft panels. As a team player, incumbent serves to initiate, discuss, and resolve problems diplomatically.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Telework Information: up to 60% telework possible (must reside in the local area).
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at: https://afciviliancareers.com/regulatory/
  • Employe must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
  • Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.

  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 60 days per year.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station. Employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is plan and perform Technical manual verification tasks, pre-publication reviews for the TO Managment Agency Manger. Provide direct support to program offices by identifying and developing specific technical manual contractual requirements. Post digitization reviews and assist with the management of the F-16 technical order correction and improvement program. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: In-depth understanding of Fighter (F-15, F-16, F-22, or F-35) technical publication acquisition and management policies/requirements. Technical background/education and experience in Fighter (F-15, F-16, F-22, or F-35) flight crew operations, pilot interface, aircraft support, and training equipment maintenance. Ability to conduct conferences, present plans, discuss policy and resolve problems diplomatically. Skill in applying technical judgment to properly determine fighter flight manual technical publications requirements for day to day flight operations. Ability to prepare presentations and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Technical background/education and experience in F-16 Avionics Systems Maintenance required. In depth understanding of technical publications acquisition and management policies and requirements. Skill in applying technical judgment to properly determine maintenance manual technical publications requirements for day-to-day operations.
