The primary purpose of this position EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, NH-1670-03, is to serve as an Subject Matter Expert (SME) Equipment Specialist for an assigned AFLCMC Directorate organization.
Duties
-Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of acquisition and sustainment throughout the life cycle of USAF systems/equipment
-Serve as Senior Equipment Specialist (ES) Technical Expert on workforce development and training requirements to support the acquisition and sustainment of Air Force systems
-Develop, deliver, and administer training and/or education for ES Equipment Specialist (ES). Develops and/or revises technical training materials such as study guides, workbooks, written tests, progress checks, etc.
-Represent the organization with a variety of program office and functional area organizations and works on special projects as directed.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1670, Equipment Services Series. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is described as: Assisting with the technical, logistical, acquisition, and sustainment support under total system configuration control, to ensure safety, suitability, operational and effectiveness integrity for assigned weapon systems; aided in the completion of workforce development and training requirements; provide system-level technical support to include maintenance and repair requirements for both contract and organic workloads; furnish logistic support to all customers to include data analysis to aid in procurement actions, excess disposal actions, repair requirements, reliability and maintainability actions; helped lay out system, sub-system, equipment, and component-level acquisition support to all customers to include development of technical documents, specifications, maintenance concepts, sustainment support, and logistic elements. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of maintenance related to the US Air Force Technical Order System.
2. Knowledge of Air Force technical data management, policies and procedures to achieve the goals and objectives of the US Air Force Technical Order System.
3. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians; and developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
4. Ability to develop and conduct training to a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest to ensure proper understanding of technical data management.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.
