The primary purpose of this position is to acquire, develop, support and sustain Products and Services by generating logistics solutions and supporting personnel. This position serves as a Lead Equipment Specialist.
Duties
Lead, plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organization, ensuring operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercise lead personnel management responsibilities by planning workload to be accomplished by team, set and adjust short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Lead, manage, advise, assist, and/or coordinate systems, components, and equipment maintenance/repair programs, strategies, and/or operations in accordance with regulatory policy, processes, and guidance.
Serve as a technical advisor/Lead Equipment Specialist of a team of employees in performing and accomplishing timely worldwide logistical support for complex and sophisticated weapon systems and subsystems.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions to include individual occupational requirements Equipment Services Series 1670.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Undergraduate Education: Major study -- any field of study in an accredited college or university.
Graduate Education: Major study -- fields related to the position to be filled.

Experience
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-2, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in familiarity with team lead activities providing a variety of coordinating, coaching, mentoring, inspiring, motivating, facilitating, consensus building and planning techniques along with guiding and challenging others towards goal accomplishment and being able to adapt leadership styles to a variety of situations; inventory management principal, and expertise in concepts and methodologies sufficient to perform a variety of complex assignments, operations and procedures; consumable and recoverable requirements determination process, data collection and management techniques and analysis techniques required to provide input to decision makers. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in any field. This education has been obtained in an accredited college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of design and manufacturing of a family of electronic equipment, parts, assemblies, components and subsystems and composite weapon systems to includes knowledge of their characteristics, properties and uses.
2. Knowledge of policies and procedures for maintaining equipment, ability to review, analyze, and evaluate
equipment specialist programs and knowledge of applicable customer services standards.
3. Knowledge of sources, responsibilities, and means to provide timely assistance and economical solutions for
technical problems.
4. Knowledge of structure, content, codes, internal and external interfaces, update procedures and uses of
automated supply systems and databases and automated databases for equipment specialist determination.
5. Skill to enhance maintenance effectiveness and efficiency to ensure that modifications or new equipment will
satisfactorily interface with existing equipment and skill in using information systems and software for research to
review, interpret, analyze, evaluate, and write technical data.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines and ability to advise others with oral and written communication.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
