This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This Security Specialist, NH-0080-03 position is located in the Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors located at Alexandria, VA.
Duties
Represents the organization as an expert on assigned physical security program elements and projects.
Develop and recommends personnel security policies, directives, and implements PERSEC guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory guidance.
Manages the classification management program including coordinating security classification guidance, declassification reviews, and security education and training for the command.
Reviews documents prior to public release.
Provides oversight of the industrial security program for numerous facility locations that have different complex security systems and programs.
Prepares and coordinates OPSEC Awareness training and activities for the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with sensitive compartmental information or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- The duties of this position require submission of, on an annual basis, OGE 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing guidance on policies and procedures relating to physical security program elements and projects; 2) Identifying security problems to ensure compliance; 3) Coordinating security classification guidance, security education and training for the command; 4) Reviews contract documentation to identify the level of secure work to be performed and information involved.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11.
