Duties
At the both the WG-05 and WG-06 levels you will perform the duties below.
You will receive, issue, handle, select and preparing for shipment, segregate, store, and stow materials.
You will inventory, and document the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, and materials.
You will perform inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage.
You will document discrepancies.
You will read shipping and tracking documents.
You will use computer applications to maintain required data.
You will operate motor vehicles, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
At the WG-06 level you will also perform the duties below.
You will perform the consolidation, rotation, or relocation of stored items, under your own initiative.
You will lay out storage space and establish item and material locations in accordance with agency regulations.
You will load materials and organize incoming shipments for maximum space utilization, safety considerations, and damage protection.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to maintain a secret level security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You may be required to perform occasional travel up to 25%
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You may be required to lift weights up to 70 lbs.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain licensing and certifications for all assigned equipment, including Forklifts.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Conditions of Employment below apply only to the WG-06 Level position:
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
To qualify for the WG-6907-06, your resume must demonstrate that you have the ability to perform the work of WG-06 Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience under normal supervision receiving, issuing, handling, selecting and preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies; reading shipping and tracking documents; using computer applications to maintain required data; performing the consolidation, rotation, or relocation of stored items, as directed; complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures; operating motor vehicles, forklifts and material handling equipment.
To qualify for the WG-6907-05, your resume must demonstrate that you have the ability to perform the work of WG-05 Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience under close supervision receiving, issuing, handling, storing, and inventorying, supplies, equipment, and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies; reading shipping and tracking documents; complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures; operating motor vehicles and materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
