This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Asst. Director, Emergency Management and Resilience Division. The Coordinator is responsible for programs that include Critical Infrastructure & Reconstitution. This includes establishing guidance, policy, plans, coordination and tracking of improvements and readiness status for continuity programs that supports the AOC and other branches of Government.
Duties
This position is considered "essential" for purposes of reporting to work when the facility might otherwise be closed. This position may require on-call support to 24/7 operations, including deployment to support the OCSO Security and Emergency Management Program. This position may involve working shifts for 24/7 coverage.

To be creditable, an applicant's one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance. To qualify at the GS-13 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
Applying qualitative and\or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex processes and systems to address AOC Resilience Program issues;
Developing new methods, approaches or procedures to effectively plan for and coordinate a department’s readiness and response operations using knowledge of Federal, state and local government organizational structures and relationships, especially as related to COOP, COG and emergency preparedness; and
Applying techniques and skills in the planning and development of critical infrastructure and reconstitution operational, planning and support for an organization’s Resilience Program required for effective COOP and COG planning and response in situations involving mobilization, national security or natural disasters.
To qualify at the GS-12 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
Applying concepts, theories, principles and practices for critical infrastructure and reconstitution operational, planning and support for Resilience Programs and exercise support, training, updating polices, planning and documentation, and general program support;
Using qualitative and\or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex processes and systems to address organizational Resilience Program issues;
Effective speaking and writing skills to communicate effectively with officials or staff at various levels within the AOC and to produce clearly written correspondence often involving controversial issues;
Developing new methods, approaches or procedures to effectively plan for and coordinate a department’s readiness and response operations using knowledge of Federal, state and local government organizational structures and relationships, especially as related to COOP, COG and emergency preparedness; and
Applying techniques and skills in the planning and development of critical infrastructure and reconstitution operational, planning and support for an organization’s Resilience Program required for effective COOP and COG planning and response in situations involving mobilization, national security or natural disasters.
