Position is in the Office of Community Care (OCC) at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center (VA SORCC) and Clinics at White City, Oregon. The primary purpose of the position is to provide technical and program support on all administrative and management functions including but not limited to planning, programming, assessments, inspections, budgeting, data processing, personnel, logistics management, reporting and general office management.
Duties
Duties included but not limited to:
The incumbent possesses knowledge of a substantial body of administrative and program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives. Develops programs to ensure that quality provisions are planned, developed, and implemented. Creates spreadsheets for tracking of training, budget requests and serves as the focal point for processing and tracking training requests. Works with Occupational Health annually to ensure education and compliance for vaccinations amongst Office of Community Care staff.
The incumbent understands and assists use of VistA (Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture) as it pertains to entry and track of work orders, as well as data collection. Functions as the Point of Contact (POC) for any committees that fall under the OCC service line.
The incumbent utilizes spreadsheets to track and update, and ensures criteria per Quality Management (QM) are met. Works in conjunction with the Advanced Medical Support Assistants and the clinical Service Chief to assess workflow in coordination with patient care and understands aspects of consult management as it pertains to patient scheduling. Reviews space requirements and requests and assists staff with supply needs through Supply Chain Management. Works with Biomedical Engineering to coordinate any medical equipment needs or issues, including ordering specific equipment supplies.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Collect, compile, and track data and statistical information; Preparing correspondence such as compose, edit and review letters and reports for accuracy and completeness; Taking meeting minutes, agendas and reports; Provides clerical support such as answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information about the office, its functions, and standard operating procedures, and similar information.
In addition to meeting Specialized Experience the following is required: Typing Proficiency: 40 words per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet this requirement by presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates (must upload certificate with application package) or by self-certifying their proficiency.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
