Incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant for Quality Management (QM), VA is SORCC. Applicant is expected to work independently and demonstrate leadership by planning, developing, and organizing an administrative support program through effective administrative and clerical practices and established policies.
Duties
Incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant for Quality Management (QM), VA is SORCC. Applicant is expected to work independently and demonstrate leadership by planning, developing, and organizing an administrative support program through effective administrative and clerical practices and established policies. Responsibilities include administrative support, communication, and coordination for the Director, Quality Manager, Peer Review Coordinator, Quality Management Consultants, Patient Safety Manager, and System Redesign Coordinator.
The incumbent through the skills and expertise in collective processing compiling editing and computing and presenting data to aid in the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the office, which includes providing leadership in awareness of priorities and the delegation of work to assure timely completion.
He/she is responsible for scheduling the Quality Managers calendar to prevent conflicts. He/she schedules conference rooms ensuring coordination of meetings, conferences, and other activities to prevent conflicts and ensures all required materials are available.
The incumbent receives visitors including professional and administrative personnel of healthcare facilities (VA and non-VA), county, state, national and federal agencies, veterans, and members of their families, determines the nature of their business, and makes appropriate referrals. He/she supports a Quality Management staff with VISN 20 responsibilities.
Incumbent delegates duties and trains student aides and or volunteers in the performance clerical support activities, when the of opportunity is presented.
Incumbent independent independently develops and maintains databases example Patient Incident Review, Tort claims, Board of Investigations, External Peer Review, and Adverse Events. He or she must work closely with the Quality Manager, Risk Manager and Patient Safety Officer to assure timely completion and data entry for the various segments of the Quality Management Program.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm tour may be negotiable.

GS-07 Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 level; experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience which includes working in a highly independent capacity to perform administrative work using Microsoft Office applications, Outlook scheduling tools, Word, and Excel spreadsheet management. Administrative support for meetings and presentations: scheduling, agendas, and meeting minutes. Excellent customer service skills; Knowledge of the administrative operations of the service, including activities related to patient information. Knowledge of duties/priorities commitments and program goals; knowledge of management of information, and ability to apply this knowledge to data management. Knowledge of the program components (quality assurance, quality improvement, risk management, patient safety, and confidentiality regulations including the Privacy Act and 5705 U.S. Code). NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month & year starting and ending dates AND hours worked per week..
Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting Specialized Experience the following is required: Ability to type 40 words per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet this requirement by presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates or by self-certifying their proficiency.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-07 level.
