You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY BRANCH (SP33) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.

Duties

You will assist and support the Supervisory of the Physical Security Section (SP3323) in developing and implementing Physical Security policies and guidelines in keeping with DON and DOD guidance. You will develop security policy and design, develop, evaluation and sometimes install protection systems and devices OR oversee the installation of said systems which protect sensitive information, equipment and other material. You will participate in and/or conducts security assist visits and/or inspections to ensure that both government and industry locations are in compliance with overarching guidance, policies and procedures. You will research, advise, counsel and makes recommendations to the unit, branch and SSP Senior Leadership for technical solutions to protect national security information and sensitive information. You will identify and protect facilities, information, material, operations, personnel and property from assault, unauthorized disclosure, espionage, insider threat, loss, misuse, sabotage, vandalism or theft.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Develop, evaluate, manage, or review physical security policies or programs to ensure security compliance.
