About the Position: Serves as a General Supply Specialist at a Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Brigade performing a variety of supply functions. Work involves procurement and management of all types of supplies, facilities, vehicles, and certain services to the Brigade.

Duties

Use the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) as the Total Asset Visibility manager Maintain the internal general supply support and inventory tracking of maintenance service plans: and, monitor and process maintenance/supply requests in separate databases. Perform routine system facility maintenance to include daily and weekly operational checks when required. Schedule all local sustainment support of facilities and field level maintenance support: to ensure that all supporting documentation and financial information is being maintained in accordance with SDDC requirements. Direct inventory stock control studies and interprets procedures, regulations, and directives. Identify problem trends relating to inventory management; and develop solutions to problem trends and make recommendations for corrective action. Evaluate supply forecasts considering fluctuating needs caused by research requirements, specialized training and new training requirements. Analyze and determine reasons for deviation from approved stock fund obligation authority from the supporting branch office. Prepare staff papers, decision papers, reports, economical analysis and special studies as well as routine correspondence.

Requirements

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as unit Administrator for a supply support system (such as the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE) module), administering, planning and directing property management programs using unclassified and classified property accountability systems and providing technical, planning and administrative guidance to organizational leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Product Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
