You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Drafting) in the Facilities ENG & ACQ Division, PM & E Branch Civil/Structural Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will provide advice, solutions and assistance to the design and/or construction lead engineer on technical issues requiring knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods.
You will assist in the preparation of designs, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide range of shore facility projects.
You will review project plans, specifications, and submittals prior to contract award and during execution.
You will present drawings in a clear, concise manner utilizing Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software and techniques.
You will operate and manage the physical and electronic drawing vault for the PWD regional AOR.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; 2) Consolidating findings and preparing well-reasoned documentation to identify and resolve problems and conflicting priorities: 3) Using computer, Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), and database type software; 4) Mentoring lower graded technicians to develop or modify work methods, software approaches and procedures to maintain technical drafting and design technologies; and 5) Monitoring design projects to a successful and timely completion.
