You will serve as a Family Housing Assistant in the Personnel Support Branch, Family Housing Division, G-F Department of MARINE CORPS BASE. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties

You will interview military personnel of all ranks and/or dependents seeking housing assistance on or off-base. You will maintain continuous coordination with the Public Private Venture (PPV) partner. You will accept, acknowledge receipt, verify and process applications for on-base housing and necessary documentation to refer personnel to (PPV) housing units. You will submit housing reports pertaining to starting and stopping for PPV Housing. You will provide provide counsel to applicants regarding rules, regulations, orders, availability, size of unit entitlement, and application control date for placement on appropriate waiting list.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: assisting with accepting and reviewing housing applications and required documents; counseling applicants on housing eligibility and availability; and utilizing systems to maintain housing occupancy records. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent education as follows:

Successfully completed four years of education above high school level.

Or

Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
