This position is located in the Division of Insurance and Research, Atlanta, GA of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of enhancing the Corporation's programs for identifying, monitoring and addressing existing and emerging aggregate risks to the Corporation's Deposit Insurance.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Basic Requirements
Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
or
Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in 1 above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to the basic requirement, you must meet the following:
Specialized Experience:
To qualify at the grade 9 level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 7 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience collecting, compiling and analyzing economic data from primary or secondary sources, and using statistical software to evaluate and manipulate economic data sets.

EDUCATION: Education may be substituted for experience in qualifying for this position. To Qualify based on education, you must have earned a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in economics or a related field.
OR
COMBINATION of education and experience: To qualify with a combination of education and experience that meets the requirements for grade 9 level, you must have graduate level education as described above, beyond the 1st full year of graduate level education and specialized experience as describe above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
To qualify at the grade 11 level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 9 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience evaluating economic data to identify risks and trends; using statistical software programs to evaluate and manipulate economic data sets; prepare reports identifying economic risks and trends; and present findings.
OR
EDUCATION: Education may be substituted for experience in qualifying for this position. To Qualify based on education, you must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in economics or a related field.

COMBINATION of education and experience: To qualify with a combination of education and experience that meets the requirements for grade 11 level, you must have graduate level education as described above, beyond the 2nd full year of graduate level education and specialized experience as describe above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
To qualify at the grade 12 level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 11 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience analyzing economic data using statistical software programs to identify economic risks, evaluate and manipulate large and complex data sets; apply econometric models; prepare reports identifying economic risks and trends and make recommendations and presentations based on findings.
