Duties

As a Economist you will: Monitor changing requirement for health economic data relating to the health care system. Provide specialized expertise in decision analysis and simulation techniques for modeling determinants of health, and econometric modeling including linear and non-linear regression with cross-section, time series and panel data. Develop innovative economic and econometric methods related to the collection, analysis, and communication of public health surveillance information. Provide expert consultation and technical support for data collection, data evaluation, data management for large/complex statistical and/or economic evaluations and health policy studies. Develop online economic evaluation trainings, guidance for collecting cost/economic information.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Basic Qualifications: Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. or Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: designing, conducting, and advising on health economics analyses to guide evidence-based vaccine policy and optimize public health programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.

College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
