Duties

Requisition components for maintenance/repair of various types of major end items automotive wheel, track vehicles, and support equipment, and various office products and supplies. Utilize a system such as the Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A) to monitor job requests and to determine sequencing of operation. Verify stock numbers, quantities needed and other pertinent information. Review request for parts, tools or equipment submitted by mechanics or other personnel. Monitor all job requests to determine sequencing of operation to accomplish required work.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Up to 5% Business Travel may be required.
  • Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
  • An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • This position requires the use of appropriate clothing or gear such as safety glasses and shoes, ear protection, hard hat, and observance of safety precautions.
  • A qualified typist is required.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • The Lautenberg act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment per 18 U.S.C. Section 1001.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program).
  • The incumbent must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingManages and Organizes InformationManages ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
