About the Position: Performs a wide range of supply, maintenance management and operational functions in the areas of the Army Maintenance Management System to include requisitioning, receiving, reconciliation, inventory, equipment status reporting, issuing/dispatching, and equipment maintenance file update.
Duties
Review and edit supply requisition request for equipment parts, tools and other supplies submitted by supervisors, mechanics and other personnel for accuracy.
Research, price evaluate, and project commonly used materials, supplies and equipment parts using required supply sources based on cost effectiveness, availability and urgency.
Apply knowledge of the organization's shop operations, work procedures, and prioritize planning, scheduling, and controlling the equipment within the organization.
Compile reports, generate readiness data, and maintain accurate purchasing records by using office administration/automation skills.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- This position requires the use of appropriate clothing or gear such as safety glasses and shoes, ear protection, hard hat, and observance of safety precautions.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) using an automated system to process supply requisitions for equipment parts, tools and supplies; 2) researching maintenance manuals, commercial catalogs or other supply sources to locate needed or interchangeable materials; and 3) compiling reports to maintain accurate purchasing records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
