You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the Farragut Technical Analysis Center, Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Info Tech Branch of FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER.

Duties

You will provide Information Technology (IT) incident, service, knowledge and asset management. You will resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents; researches, evaluates, and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns. You will assist with planning and/or scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software. You will manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. You will regularly interact and coordinate with stakeholders in ONI and subordinate commands. You will ensure user issues are captured, validated, and triaged for resolution.

  • This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 41. The position requires you to comply with the DON Cyber It/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2

Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating knowledge of a wide range of IT concepts, principles and practices and have the skill to apply this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments. Specialized experience must demonstrate: 1. Managing the end to end delivery of IT services to operators, including Incident, knowledge, asset, change, and service request management on Unclassified and classified general and specialized systems, networks, LAN and WAN; 2. Provide end users tiered-level customer support by coordinating software, hardware, network, and security issue resolution; 3. Build, install, configure, troubleshoot, and provide maintenance and training on Desktop Specialized Mission and Non-Mission IT back end (client) resources; 4. Document software configurations of information technology systems as well as activities which could compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and/or networked information systems; 5. Introduce (Connect or Mount) data from portable media (Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID), CD and DVD ROM, Just a Bunch of Disks (JBOD), SATA and Solid State Drives to and from Class This position is within the Work Category 41 at Work Level 411, Series and Grade GG-13. Education

Have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above,
