About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, G-1 Human Resources Management Directorate, Rock Island, IL.
Duties
Plan work, set priorities, and establish schedules for work completion to be accomplished by subordinates.
Assign work based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees.
Review work completed by subordinates; accepting, amending, or rejecting work as appropriate
Provide guidance to employees in identifying training and development needs to enhance their capabilities.
Represent the command in conferences and meetings, i.e., senior command level briefings, and meetings attended by senior civilian and military managers.
Provide HR procedural and policy guidance to subordinate personnel.
Coordinate with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) counselors/officials and employees to resolve formal and informal EEO complaints.
Provide guidance and advice to co-workers, management officials, and administrative personnel in subordinate organizations.
Compile statistical data and develops local applications as necessary to perform statistical analysis by using spreadsheets, graphics, and database applications.
Research answers to unusual situations that involve various questions raised by management officials.
Utilize a broad practical knowledge of the capabilities, facilities, and missions to perform assigned training management tool (TMT) special projects.
Consolidate administrative taskers between the G-1 and Headquarters for response and prepares comments.
Serve as action officer on guidance, laws and policies pertaining to personnel issues for the division.
Resolve systemic issues that impact administrative taskers.
Perform analyses of assigned programs to determine needs of the command.
Initiate instructions with regard to mobilization and emergency contingency operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary duty travel of 5% may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
