This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The Deputy Chief Financial Officer is the principal assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the oversight of financial management activities, initiatives, and operations in the EOP.
Duties
As a Deputy Chief Financial Officer, GS-0501-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Sets priorities, establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members.
Oversees the monthly creation of dashboards, smartbooks and pro-active financial status information for the CFO, Deputy Director of OA and the Director of OA.
Coordinates and leads the building of EOP financial statements in accordance with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) A-136.
Oversees the execution of reporting functions required by the Chief Financial Officer's Act of 1990 (CFO Act), the Federal Manager's Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), and the Government Performance Results Act (GPRA).
Ensures the accuracy and consistency of financial information reflected in the general ledger statement of accounts, conducting internal controls and financial accounting activities for measuring validity.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates 1) Developing and delivering oral and written communications on federal budgetary, accounting, and contracting policies, concepts, practices, and principles. 2) Providing guidance utilizing Federal statutes of financial management (e.g; Office of Management and Budget (OMB), other Government-wide regulations, directives, or policies and organizational directives and polices). 3) Planning, directing, and leading work for others by establishing priorities and assigning work. 4) Leading or managing the financial administration or budgeting (such as: financial analysis, cost estimating, budget formulation and execution processes) to plan and control financial or budgeting processes for an organization's projects/programs; and 5) Collaborating with senior level managers and external stakeholders/customers to address and resolve resource and financial management problems and issues.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
