You will serve as a SECRETARY (OA) in the COMMODORE'S OFFICE of TRAWING ONE.
Duties
You will perform secretarial clerical, and administrative duties in support of the Commander and Chief Staff Officer (CSO).
You will draft, review and process administrative correspondence submitted to the Chief, Naval Air Training Command, Department of the Navy, other higher level joint service headquarters organizations.
You will provide guidance, instruction and assistance to the two subordinate command secretaries and staff administration offices on proper and effective correspondence, and office administration practices and procedures.
You will receive all visitors and telephone calls to the Commander and CSO, ascertain the nature of the call or business of visitors, and determine appropriate action/executive staff interaction required.
You will maintain the executive calendars for the Commander and CSO, scheduling appointments and meetings based upon personal knowledge of executive office workload and current issues of importance.
You will maintain knowledge and proficiency in the use of NAVFIT98A, Fitness Report (FITREP) software/replacement software.
You will arrange for meetings and conferences, including such matters as location, schedule, agenda, and attendance list.
You will review all incoming correspondence, publications, regulations, and directives which may affect the command, reviewing for proper format, grammar, clarity, content meaning, and completeness of background material enclosures, etc.
You will be the primary point of contact (POC) and subject matter expert (SME) for the Wing Change of Command events.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 20 pounds in weight.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing knowledge of clerical practices and procedures to provide secretarial support in conformance with guidance and policy for the effective and efficient administrative function of a large organization.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
