You will serve as a Secretary for Training Squadron Seven in the Executive Department of Naval Air Station Meridian.

Duties

You will serve as the secretary to the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of the Squadron. You will respond to calls concerning administration, office policies and procedures, and answer questions on the varied subject matters regarding established operational and administrative policies. You will observe protocol appropriate to rank and exercise tact, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with military of all levels. You will maintain calendars, schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences. You will interpret guidelines, policies, procedures and regulations that involve military and aviation terminology. You will prepare and maintain correspondence of a sensitive and confidential nature as required. You will utilize Department of Defense correspondence procedures to edit correspondence for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, clarity, content meaning, completeness of background material, enclosures, etc. You will advise other clerical personnel regarding preparation of correspondence and procedural instructions on reporting requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing routine clerical work to include maintaining calendars, receiving and directing calls or visitors, or preparing correspondence to support office staff and operations. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with successful completion of at least 4 years above high school or a combination of both education and experience.
