You will serve as a Branch Supervisor in the Product Quality Assurance Division of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

You will provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of complex Shipbuilding Quality Assurance problems involving multiple new construction contracts for naval ships and vessels. You will evaluate employees work performance, approve leave, and solve problems related to work supervised. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate work operations. You will interview candidates and make recommendations for appointments, promotions, and reassignments. You will hear and resolve employee complaints and refer group grievances and serious complaints to the Comptroller. You will identify and recommend training needs. You will carry out EEO policies and communicate support of these policies. You will cooperate and participate full y in the development of EEO Affirmative Action Plans and efforts regarding staffing, motivation and training. You will develop and implement quality plans, execute instructions, procedures, directives and memoranda for use by Shipbuilding Quality Assurance.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector "Leading quality assurance inspections, assessments, surveillances or audits on shipbuilding construction, maintenance, repair, or testing operations."
