You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN) in the Business Department/Command Support Division of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PUGET SOUND.
Duties
You will provide oversight, technical support, and interpretation of DOD, Navy, and NAVSUP Information Technology policies and procedures for Next Generation contract execution.
You will serve as primary point of contact for NGEN contractor issue escalation and command input to the NAVSUP Regional Contract Technical Representative.
You will manage, monitor, and control access to Command shared resources utilizing need to know policies and control mechanisms.
You will identify command IT needs and order necessary resources and services to fulfill requirements.
You will identify and articulate new customer IT service requirements and specifications not covered in NGEN contract.
You will assist in coordinating, administering, and overseeing Information Assurance program activities.
You will identify the cause of problems and choose courses of action that balance the interest of the mission and stakeholders.
You will protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
You will develop or implement strategy and plans for utilization, tracking and management of information resources (such as personnel, equipment, and funds) in order to enable organizational and enterprise missions.
You will provide functional and/or technical support to customers to ensure validation of requirements and delivery of Information Technology capabilities.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) level 2 within 12 months of appointment.
- This position requires occasional travel.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
You must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Knowledge of Navy's Next Generation Information Technology contact and major issues, program goals, objectives, and work processes of the NMCI program, (2) Skill in translating Information Technology and Network requirements into viable statements of work outside of the NMCI scope and service, (3) Ability to investigate new applications/technologies to meet new requirements and determine/address lost capabilities due to the removal of applications/technologies, (4) Serve as technical expert on NGEN contract policies, practices, and principles and command IT support/security issues, (5) Knowledge of Federal, DOD, Navy information security and IA policies, procedures, vulnerabilities, and reporting requirements to ensure security maintenance and compliance.
