About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Moore, GA. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.
Duties
Coordinate and conducts Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) Team operations, Personnel Actions, retirement, separation, reassignments processing and ID card services for the installation.
Responsible for processing separations, retirements, reassignments, personnel service actions for enlisted and officer personnel and update military personnel records.
Operate a variety of military personnel automated systems.
Provide technical guidance and training to all supported automated systems, supporting military personnel functions.
Responsible conducting In/Out-Processing of military personnel
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee must be willing and able to travel in military and commercial aircraft and vehicles.
- Employee may be required to work overtime to include on an emergency basis.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

For Current Federal Employees: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) processing and managing Soldiers' Military Personnel records, (2) conducting records accountability, (3) ensuring accurate and timely updating and processing military personnel actions, (4) conducting personnel reassignment processing to determine eligibility and preparing reassignment orders using the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A), (5) processing applications for Soldiers retiring and separating, and (6) preparing the DD Form 214 and separation/retirement orders in TRANSPROC. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
For External Applicants: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Identifying discrepancies regarding information contained in a military personnel automated database system, such as iPERMS and IPPS-A 2) Initiating requests for orders for intra-station assignments, reassignments, appointments and details for military personnel; 3) Conduct Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) for military units preparing for deployment personnel by 4) counseling Soldiers on benefits and entitlements and validating information entered on the Record of emergency data (DD Form 93). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
