About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation located on Peterson Space Force Base.
This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs Recreation Aid duties in the operation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities
Records attendance
Takes reservations and payment for trips and tours
Notifies participants of schedules changes
Loads vehicles for trips
Arranges for equipment, prepares equipment for checkout under the direct supervision of manager or designee, charges items out to patrons, and checks equipment's condition upon return
Answers inquiries about items, places, transportation, or other matter related to activities scheduled
In addition, the incumbent helps other recreation assistants when group activities requires more than one staff monitor
Takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment in the absence of recreation assistant or management.
May sell tickets and run transactions for Outdoor Recreation, Community Activity Center, and Leisure Travel when needed
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random drug testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities is highly desired.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
