Duties

Provides state of the practice recommendations for construction of dam or levee construction projects greater than $50M in total contract value. Establish and/or maintain trusting working relationships within the Corps and with other agencies in dam and levee safety. Oversees a group of multi-disciplined engineers and scientists including assigning work, preparing performance elements, and executing performance evaluations. Utilize dam and levee safety engineering techniques to provide solutions to common problems. Provides guidance to the administrative and program management team in efficiently and effectively resolving operational challenges. Provides advice for risk analysis of dam and levee safety projects to assess potential failure modes and the need to mitigate them.

Requirements

Perform risk analysis for dams, levees or other critical water resource infrastructure. Coordinate program management for engineering studies and risk management to include expenditures, performance and progress. Prepare and review technical engineering products, reports, and design packages. Lead and train junior staff/engineers and technicians.
