About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.

Duties

Coordinate directly with other installation personnel, contractors, and command staff providing assistance and advice on environmental matters. Responsibilities include long range planning, budgeting, programming, and resolution of environmental issues. Coordinate the execution of assigned environmental programs, policies and regulations for Fort Hood DPW- ENV, often with other installation organizations or regulatory agencies. Review and submit comments on all projects with potential environmental impacts to PST, fueling operations, drinking water, wastewater and storm utility systems. Review and evaluate reports of regulatory noncompliance and performs appropriate and required follow-up actions.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
• This position requires a 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) course and maintain annual HAZWOPER refresher certifications.
• This position requires a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
