About the Position: Serve as Supervisory Plans and Operations Specialist in the Directorate of Human Resources (DHR), a multi-discipline staff office responsible for providing resource management, information technology management, human resource management, management studies, organizational strategic planning and mail room activities.
Duties
Serve as principal advisor to the DHR on matters relating to the management and application of financial management practices, procedures and controls.
Oversee the Directorates management studies/surveys that provide recommendations for restructuring, reorienting, recasting immediate and long-range goals, objectives, plans and milestones to meet substantial changes in programs and funding levels.
Direct and coordinate the work of the Directorate staff, assigning functional responsibilities to key subordinates while defining priorities for accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the Directorate.
Ensure that the Directorate's computer systems and Standard Army Management Information Systems are managed effectively and that problems are resolved in a timely manner by the Business Office staff.
Direct the Lean Six Sigma Initiative Program and marketing plans.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has been designated as "Key".The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing Directorate level management studies/surveys which provide recommendations for restructuring, reorienting, recasting immediate and long range goals, objectives, plans and milestones to meet substantial changes in programs and funding levels; 2) Directing Lean Six Sigma Initiative Programs; 3) Formulating non-routine costly and/or controversial training needs and training requests related to employees within an organization; 4) Providing input to supervisors on budget requirements and manages internal budget program; and 5) Command Planning input for a Directorate. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
