Duties

Serve as the principal customer service representative for the Training Coordination Branch. Utilize various software and databases to schedule and manage training. Assist in identifying training needs and training support requirements. Develop staff estimates, briefings, and decision papers. Support training conferences and planning events for named exercises.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • The duties of this position require you to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position may require you to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.
  • This position may requires you to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
  • This position may require overtime work.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires you to possess or obtain and maintain Range Facility Management Support System and Range Safety Certifications within 6 months of appointment into the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Experience creating, reviewing, or analyzing training plans; Experience providing customer service to customers requiring training or scheduling training events; AND Experience utilizing integrated computer systems, such as Range Facility Management Support System or Digital Training Management System to schedule and manage training; OR Experience utilizing a web-based enterprise information system, such as Total Ammunition Management Information System, to establish, maintain, or manage ammunition requirements, authorizations, forecasts, requests, or expenditures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as any major field of study. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
