About the Position: This position is with the US Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort McCoy, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security Training Division, Range Branch located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
Duties
Manage the ranges, impact areas, maneuver areas, training facilities and the integration of safety and training within the training complex.
Establish policies for range and maneuver area control, support, immediate and long-range facility development and utilization.
Prepare the work plan annually to maintain a five year plan.
Submit budget requirements for Fort McCoy ITAM Work Plan.
Implement funding, procurement and fielding actions to provide training enhancing target support.
Resolve conflict and coordinate actions pertaining to the use, control, scheduling, and maintenance of live fire facilities, impact areas and maneuver areas and training facilities.
Coordinate activities with the Natural Resources Branch, National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) Coordinator, and must obtain the appropriate environmental clearance.
Advise officers and Civilians of all ranks and grades on use, capabilities and limitations of the training complex.
Implement control, safety and management systems that are based on accident/incident prevention and the efficient and effective support of training.
Develop safety control procedures and facility use and scheduling requirements for day and night live fire and non live fire training.
Requirements

- The duties of this position may require the incumbent to work evenings, nights, holidays, and/or weekends to include modification in shifts and/or tour of duty.
- This position requires the incumbent to acquire and maintain a valid state's driver's license.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel to attend various meetings and conferences.

One year of specialized experience which includes experience involving managing a range complex and developing improvement plans for ranges, impact areas, maneuver areas and training facilities; enforcing range safety measures and range clearance operations; managing budget and procurement activities; coordinating with agencies for range capabilities and supporting major training exercises; developing requirements and recommendations for contract work; and supervising a civilian workforce. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
