This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. Duties

Performs a broad range of unusual and controversial assignments relating to information systems and architectures Develops new and improved concepts, principles, and techniques that will advance computer networking, and adapt and apply advanced computer networking methods and techniques to solve complex communications processing requirements Performs systems life-cycle activities required to turn a set of requirements into a capability Integrates disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort, forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation and disposal Considers both the business and the technical needs of all customers, with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user needs

Qualifications

**TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED- INCLUDING CURRENT AGENCY EMPLOYEES*** Basic Requirements for the GG-854 and GG-855 Professional Engineering Series: Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration Written Test Specified academic courses Related curriculum - With this criteria, applicants also need verification of employment from a supervisor stating you have performed professional engineering duties. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Qualifying Experience: For the GG-14, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility Qualifying experience is defined as coordinating and synchronizing global net-centric solutions to plan, engineer, acquire, and integrate joint, interoperable, secure global net-centric solutions. In addition to meeting the experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.
