Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Public Health Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Serving as one of OCMO's clinical policy and practice advisors.
Knowledge of primary medical conditions and care needed as OCMO leads crosscutting initiatives in behavioral health integration.
Providing expertise in the infectious disease interface with behavioral health conditions required as OCMO participates in many agency-wide initiatives for HIV, syphilis, and viral hepatitis and other infectious diseases.
Leading SAMHSA efforts in Tobacco use disorder.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Basic Requirements for all Public Health Program Specialist Series, 0685 positions require that you demonstrate specialize experience in each of the following five competencies:
Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions.
Skill in oral and written communication, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
-AND-
Specialized Experience:
In additional to the basic requirement above, for this Supervisory Public Health Advisor position at the GS-14 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-13 level in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Clinical experience in delivering healthcare across age groups, demographics, and medical conditions.
Communicating with representatives of the health care and human services industry to obtain expert input and promote health service initiatives such as smoking cessation policies or behavioral health integration and infectious disease screening recommendations.
Developing educational curriculum.
