Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of Financial Management, in Washington, District of Columbia.
These are non-bargaining unit positions.
Duties
As a Supervisory Financial Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Performing liaison functions with other organizations, including frequently representing the organization and fostering working relationships with other agencies;
Identifying financial management needs to include cost accounting and documentation requirements;
Representing the office in dealing with vendors and organizations and having primary responsibility for those services;
Managing a staff of employees who provide financial program services that support key agency/department and component programs; and
Performing a wide variety of analytical and administrative duties during all stages and including the execution of the financial program.
Requirements

- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Serving as the financial advisor to management on issues where financial considerations affect program actions;
Implementing and modifying established practices and policies to resolve financial business operation problems;
Planning, establishing, and maintaining business processes that contribute to effective management control over financial program operations;
Providing technical and administrative advice to management in various designated specialty areas dealing with financial programs; and
Developing business operation functions through study, research, analysis, and information evaluation in order to resolve issues and recommend courses of action.
