You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Waterfront Production and Self Help Branch (Code 900F.11), Temporary Facilities and Equipment Manager (Code 900F.1), Production Facilities and Equipment Manager (Code 900F), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will carry out EEO policies and communicate support these policies to subordinates.
You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools provided through the AIM process for assigned units of work.
You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences.
You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.
You will maintain records of time expended and progress on assigned jobs.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Experience overseeing maintenance, repair, installation, and operations in various trade disciplines to include, carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, pipefitting, and air condition for various facilities; Experience of shop mathematics to plan, compute, and layout projects;
Experience interpreting and applying building plans and blueprints;
Experience with safety precautions, principals, and work methods associate with a maintenance mechanic;
Experience with ship lines and ship construction nomenclature;
Experience with the physical exterior and interior configurations of a large variety of submarines and surface ships.
Experience ensuring compliance with applicable laws regulations and policies;
Experience planning, assigning, and reviewing work.
