You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the Production Resources Department (Code 900), Production Resources Manager (Code 901), Service Shop (Code 990) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will provide technical directions to workers in the electrical, air-conditioning, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, and insulation. You will prepare, pack and transfer radiological material. You will prepare and coat different types of surfaces by matching, tinting, toning, and blending coating materials and agents. You will perform regular job site supervision, paying particular attention to conformance to procedures and processes and established performance goals and ensures safe work practices and good housekeeping.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
