You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the Production Resources Department (Code 900), Production Resources Manager (Code 901), Service Shop (Code 990) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will provide technical directions to workers in the electrical, air-conditioning, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, and insulation.
You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.
You will perform regular job site supervision, paying particular attention to conformance to procedures and processes and established performance goals.
You will ensure work leaders under his/her supervision have the necessary plans, procedures, blueprints, instructions, tools, etc. to perform their work operations.
You will prevent and/or overcome bottlenecks, equipment and power breakdowns, assure that proper types and amounts of equipment are at the job site without tying up needed and expensive equipment unnecessarily.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Experience providing technical directions to workers in various trade disciplines to include, carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, pipefitting, and air conditioning for various facilities;
Experience of shop mathematics to plan, compute, and layout projects;
Experience interpreting and applying building plans and blueprints;
Experience leading or supervising processes involved in the fabric worker trade while initiating any necessary corrective actions to overcome delays in project completion.
Experience ensuring compliance with applicable laws regulations and policies;
Experience planning, assigning, and reviewing work.
