The incumbent serves as an Management Assistant (MA) in Federal Investigative Records Enterprise (FIRE) Automated Federal Leads Center (AFLC) located at Fort Meade, Md. The incumbent is responsible for administrative tasks to support a team of employees who conduct and report a variety of electronic record checks and a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the program.
Duties
This announcement is open to All U.S. Citizens who live or are currently employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; City of Alexandria, VA; Virginia counties of Arlington, Stafford, Prince William, and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-6) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Managing essential administrative activities to ensure smooth, effective, and efficient operations of the Investigative Services;
Responding to general inquiries and administrative issues ensuring that a timely and appropriate response is issued;
Preparing and analyzing workload management reports to ensure case timeliness;
Reviewing documents for timeliness, procedural correctness, completeness and responsiveness to requirements;
Providing assistance to field work and support contractors for Federal Investigative Services (FIS) on specific policies and procedures related to the investigations process.

4.Reading- Learns from written material by determining the main idea or essential message. Recognizes correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
5.Technical Competence- Knowledge of how to perform one's job. Refers to specialized knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience.
