About the Position: This position is for a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) at Fort Moore, Georgia located within Martin Army Community Hospital.

Duties

Prepare correspondence, reports in draft and final form using automated applications. Provide guidance to telephonic and walk-in requests from staff, management or higher echelons. Process military actions utilizing electronic automated system. Perform a variety of human resources tasks regarding military human resources programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is required to work after duty hours and subject to recall for this position.
  • This position has a requirement of moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • One year probation period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing automated HR systems to process a variety of actions; 2) maintaining records/databases; and 3) reviewing documents for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, human resources or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of undergraduate education in excess of 2 years by 60. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of undergraduate education is equivalent to 30 semester hours.) (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
