You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group, Security Department, Program & Special Security Division, Technology Advancement (PM) Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will provide daily security support in a wide range of security functional areas that include information security, physical security, personnel security, communications security, and general security administration. You will plan, implement and administer the Special Access Program (SAP)/Special Access Required (SAR) Security ensuring SAP/SAR security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. You will provide support in the areas of program protection planning; personnel, industrial, physical and Information Systems (IS). You will prepare, review and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Providing security related training briefs to workforce under area of cognizance; 3) Managing and leading other security specialists and assistants from an oversight perspective and providing training and guidance, as necessary.
