Purpose: To serve as the Director of Security and principal advisor to a Senior Materiel Leader for the establishment and suitability of protection countermeasures within an acquisition system portfolio for information and weapons systems in development, production, testing, modification, and fielding across domains.

Duties

DUTY 1: Plans, organizes and directs collateral, sensitive compartmental information and special access program security activities for organization's assigned system programs. Examines security initiatives, protection measures and processes for application across platform, system, and organizational lines. DUTY 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. DUTY 3: Develops and prioritizes organizational security and information protection performance goals and mission objectives; develops operating procedures and plans, acquisition security concept and implementation plans; sets overall priorities and objectives for security personnel; assesses progress toward objectives; identifies problems and takes appropriate corrective action; evaluates new concepts and ideas of technical and management importance. DUTY 4: Administers through subordinates, the Program Protection Planning. Identifies and validates mission security needs through evaluation or development of security elements of applicable program. Identifies program funding for program protection planning and system security activities and system components. DUTY 5: Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various AFLCMC organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with these organizations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills , abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Mastery of Acquisition security, traditional Information Protection disciplines, Special Access Program Security, Antitamper, certification and accreditation of embedded systems principles and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. 2. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. 3. Knowledge of engineering, contracting, logistics and other functional concepts, programs, procedures, and practices. 4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. 5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Basic Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Obtain & maintain Top Secret Security clearance This is designated Drug Testing Position (if applicable) Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable) Travel up to 25% Key Roles: Requests, processes, and coordinates waivers, exceptions, and variances to contractual security requirements. Plans, develops, directs, administers, evaluates, implements, and maintains support to cybersecurity initiatives concerning the protection of classified and sensitive information transmitted/disseminated throughout the cyber environment. Ensures systems access controls and security procedures adequately protect and safeguard hardware, software, and sensitive data processed, stored, used, produced, or transmitted in the system. Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various AFLCMC organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with these organizations. Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise. This position is in the AFLCMC Armament Directorate (AFLCMC/EB), Eglin AFB, FL. The incumbent will be dual hatted as the AFLCMC/EB Director of Security and the Information Protection Organizational Senior Functional. As the Director of Security, the incumbent will be the principal security advisor to PEO Armament for the establishment and suitability of protection countermeasures within the organization's mission portfolio for information and weapons systems in development, production, testing, modification, and fielding across all national security classification domains. Responsible for providing management oversight of Collateral Security, Sensitive Compartmented Information, Special Access Program, Program Protection, Acquisition Security, Operations Security, Scientific and Technical Information Program, and Antiterrorism and Force Protection activities to counter emerging threats aimed at weapon system programs at both government and contractor locations.
