Duties

You will monitor the execution of labor, travel, contracts, and material budgets composed of multiple types of funding received from various sources. You will research and resolves discrepancies. You will prepare financial summaries, narratives and reports to keep management and higher headquarters informed of progress. You will prepare or edit narrative justifications for projected funding needs and verify that data in the submissions accurately depict requirements. You will prepare or assist in preparation of annual material and labor budgets. You will recommend changes to local programs, budget execution manual, and procedures based on analysis.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This is a Bargaining Unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Monitoring, executing, formulating, justifying, presenting, and reporting on various budgets and funding received at the command; reviewing, analyzing, editing, coordinating, consolidating and submitting annual and multi-year budget submissions; AND identifying and interpreting budgetary directions, regulations, constraints, objectives, accounting structure, and funds availability. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.M., if related
