You will serve as a PROGRAM ASSISTANT in the Manning Division of RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.

Duties

You will have experience in processing a variety of electronic transactions relating to military and civilian actions. You will have the ability to use a variety of software packages to create documents. You will have the ability to research, compile, and analyze data from a variety of reports.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing data to identify problems and areas of concern; 2) Compiling, tracking, and analyzing reports; 3) Operating various software packages to create a variety of documents for use in daily tasks and special projects and; 4) Utilizing experience in processing a variety of electronic transactions. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying skill in data collection, storage, and maintenance; 2) Applying skill in Microsoft Office suite and other software packages to create a variety of charts, graphs, and narrative information; 3) Applying skill in administrative support functions, such as composing correspondence, receiving phone calls and visitors; and 4) Applying experience in processing a variety of electronic transactions.
