About the Position: The incumbent is the subject matter expert regarding supply and logistics operations and governing supply regulations and guidelines. Work requires a general knowledge of facility, transportation, supply and inventory management as well as other logistics support functions in order to integrate, coordinate, and analyze total support requirements.
Duties
Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive product support strategy for the materiel throughout the system life cycle.
Help in establishing the goals of the organization by planning, directing, and controlling the allocation and utilization of all authorized resources.
Assist in the management and interface with logistics element managers, contract support services, training facilities, Integrated Logistics Support Management organizations and other service users at contractor facilities and government activities.
Directs expedition of materials and supplies to keep mission on schedule.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 25%
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a T-3 Secret Clearance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible general work experience with one year of that experience equivalent to the NH-01 or GS-04 grade level, which includes creating logistics support documents to aide in the development of System Acquisition strategies; utilizing aspects of the integrated logistics support process to promote an effective property management system and developing life cycle logistics support initiatives to lower overall life cycle systems cost.
This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-02 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS-05 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS-11 grade step 10 in the broadband. This position is covered by control points to account for variances in position responsibilities within the broadband. The Control Point for this position NH-02 Logistics Management Specialist is $40,288 to $96,012 including locality at the rate of 18.92%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position.
