Duties
Serves as the project leader for Lean/Six Sigma projects within Defense Finance and Accounting Services Business Network, and as a technical expert for all process improvement projects.
Responsible for analysis, facilitation, reporting, and providing recommendations for process improvements, improving quality, reducing costs, and establishing appropriate process metrics and process controls.
Collaborates in the DFAS Lean/Six Sigma community to share, transfer and implement best practices and lessons learned from DFAS projects, private industry and government.
Works closely with senior management and Quality Improvement Initiatives Office to ensure a consistent, standardized, repeatable strategy for implementation of Lean/Six Sigma.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience Is Defined As:
Using comprehensive knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to lead, teach, advise, and communicate the meaning, assumptions, and use of quantitative and qualitative tools to Lean/Six Sigma team members, management, stakeholders, suppliers and customers.

Time-in-Grade:
Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
