About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Reserve Command, Office of the Chief of Staff, Continuous Process Improvement Office located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Plan continuous improvement initiatives for the Army Reserve.
Advisor on continuous improvement initiatives, specifically Lean Six Sigma (LSS).
Serve as the lead for CPI/ robotic process automation, develop software robots for suitability of process automation.
Evaluate current methods, techniques, and systems; undertakes studies; and provides the necessary leadership skills to improve and adopt new methods and procedures.
Oversee the analysis of functional business processes and procedures to determine suitability of robotic process automation (RPA) solutions from ideation to robot deployment.
Negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations which may require extensive changes to policy and procedures and may be in conflict with the organization or activity studies.
Conduct complicated and comprehensive analytical studies of organizations or significant segments of major management functions in order to improve internal work processes and organizational structures.
Collect and analyze pertinent organizational data and information; develops statistical and narrative data to justify any process changes or recommendations.
Provide guidance, monitor team members performance, provide leadership, advice and counsel on project objectives.
Establish project charters and milestones for approved projects, document business processes to replicate automation, obtain authority to operate, manage user acceptance testing, and deploy software robots from a production to live environment.
Evaluate processes for automation determining feasibility for automation development.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification within six months of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting strategic assessments, reviewing and analyzing organization missions and structures, conducts comparative, quantitative, qualitative analysis; Gathering, interrupting, analyzing and correlating large amounts of narrative and statistical data; identifying and developing procedures that improve the workflow and the elimination of unnecessary tasks; and designing, planning and conducting methods and procedures, engineered time standards, interrelated substantive work processes or functions, working knowledge of integrating process improvement and robotic process automation technologies and working inside an RPA, preferred experience would be working with Advana, UiPath or Power Automate. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
