About the Position: Serves as Senior Training Specialist, with responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the presentation of instruction in the fields of enlisted MOS 91B, to include Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Professional Military Education (PME), and other wheel maintenance functional courses. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the organization in the area, of Wheel Maintenance.
Duties
Provides supervisory guidance and consultation in the principles, theories, practices, techniques and effective methods of application to instructors and instructional support staff.
Serves as Senior Training Specialist, with responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising the presentation of instruction in the fields of enlisted MOS 91B and other wheel maintenance functional courses.
Assists the Division Chief with a variety of administrative, technical and educational duties in connection with enlisted student, officer and specialized MOS training.
Counsels instructors and subordinate employees and prepares performance appraisals for subordinates within assigned area.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires routine business travel (TDY) up to 20 percent of the time to other locations for temporary duty.
- This position requires that the selectee serve a supervisory probationary period of one-year before initial assignment as a supervisor becomes final.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes managing wheel vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repair of wheel vehicle automotive systems training courses; developing training course materials for instructional support; and performing training evaluations and assessments as it relates to training products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
