You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) (INFOSEC) in the DIGITAL NETWORKS & APPLICATIONS DEPARTMENT, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AND INTEGRATION DIVISION, AND ENTERPRISE DATA ANALYTICS BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The duty location for this position is Patuxent River, MD.

Duties

You will implement software solutions to meet an organization's information technology (IT) program requirements. You will determine the approach for implementation of software or hardware to meet the customer's needs. You will manage a system software program and related database to maintain systems quality and functionality. You will verify the application of information security and information assurance (IA) policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of data management services. You will design the information technology (IT) enterprise structural framework to align with the organization's mission. You will oversee mentoring of team members to ensure development in technical areas including information technology systems. You will support the costs of life cycle management for information technology (IT) systems and equipment through budget justifications. You will develop and deliver effective oral and written briefings, presentations, and reports.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 422, proficiency level BASIC the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09/11/12 grade level or pay band (NM-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/11/12) or pay band (NM-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) (INFOSEC): 1) Demonstrating technical expertise in all Information Assurance functional areas and integrating this expertise to the mission, objectives, and operations of the component served; 2) Applying supervisory techniques to provide technical and administrative supervision for civil service team members; 3) Providing leadership for technology analyses, ensuring identification, assessment and balanced consideration of advanced computing concepts, information technologies and facilitating hardware/software products pertinent to IT infrastructure design and operation; and 4) Applying IT project planning and management processes and procedures (including cost estimation and analysis, budgeting, scheduling, and contract technical administration) to plan/execute Information Technology/Information Management functions.
