About the Position: The position is in the modern 2 Hopkins Plaza building in downtown Baltimore, Maryland and located near prestigious universities, and various cultural attractions. Our mission is to deliver public and military engineering services to strengthen our Nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters.

Duties

Services as the district's training Coordinator. Prepares and reviews routine correspondence prepared by other staff. Requires interaction with various internal and external customers and staff. Requires the use of office automation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must possess a valid State-issued driver's license.
  • The duties of this position require travel up to approximately 5% of the time.
  • This position requires the skill of a qualified typist.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing general administrative duties such as preparing and reviewing correspondence to identify errors in format, spacing, and punctuation for final format; 2) Utilizing a variety of automated administrative systems such as MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel to produce and process documents, and other materials; and 3) Providing customer service to personnel requesting assistance on technical and administrative programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Management SupportOral CommunicationWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
