About the Position: Serves as a Logistics staff officer serving in the Plans, Exercise, Programs and Policy Division, ARNORTH G4 Directorate, responsible for writing and implementing logistics policies, plans, goals and objectives for Homeland Defense (HLD)/Civil Support (CS) Contingency Plans, Operations Plans and Orders, and Execution Orders.
Duties
Develops plans, procedures, using the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) practices, and functional directives concerned with contingency and emergency logistics support planning.
Develops the logistics annex to ARNORTH plans, supporting information for functional decisions in the Operations Center, and coordinates supply accountability, supply distribution and other logistics.
Serves as a member of the G-4 Cell for the OCP / MCP or Joint Forces Land Component Command (JFLCC) in support of Consequence Management missions.
Presents requirements and participates in the development of guidance emanating from these committees,
Implements ARNORTH plans, policies, program objectives and management systems, execution and control of contingency or emergency sustainment support plans and DOD/Army CPXs/FTXs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent will be required to deploy within the NORTHCOM AOR on short notice (in under 24 hours).
- Overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Incumbent will be expected to function in adverse climatic conditions and under intense physical and mental stress.
- Incumbent must be capable, upon completion of training, of unassisted donning of mission oriented protective posture (MOPP) mask, clothing and equipment, or equivalent clothing and protective equipment.
- Incumbent must participate in the DOD/DA Immunization program to include live vaccinations as required by DOD/DA policy.
- Must be able to wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) or clothing such as boots, goggles, gloves, chemical mask and other safety equipment as required.
- As a pre-condition of employment, any and all incumbents of this position must pass a physical examination.
- Employees may be required to wear an electronic pager and maintain a working telephone at all times.
- Must be able to obtain/hold a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- This position has been identified as being a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, Use and Management of Civilian Personnel in Support of Military Contingency Operations.
- You maybe required to travel up to 25%.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
