You will serve as a Risk Analysis Specialist in the Repair Department (Code 300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will provide assessments of all risks associated with very difficult and complex ship repair, maintenance and major overhaul work performed onboard as assigned ship/submarine repair. You will provide assessment and risk handling strategies from initial planning stage through execution of all maintenance work ending at the delivery of ship/submarine back to operational fleet. You will lead meetings, and providing guidance for attendees/members in a timely matter.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IT level II within 12 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

For GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as the subject matter expert on Risk Management issues related to the repair, conversion and incremental overhaul of naval ships/submarines. Experience providing technical and administrative support, communication, and strategic advice to stakeholders assigned to specific maintenance projects. Experience providing assessment and risk handling strategies from initial planning stage through execution of all maintenance and incremental overhaul work performed onboard an assigned ship/submarine platform. Experience coordinating, directing and presenting Risk Management training to improve process knowledge. Experience adapting a broad knowledge of naval ship preventative maintenance, alteration, and repair processes including production, planning, engineering, and scheduling.
